Plaza Mayor, Madrid

The Plaza Mayor was built during the Habsburg period and is a central plaza in the city of Madrid, Spain. It is located only a few Spanish blocks away from another famous plaza, the Puerta del Sol. The Plaza Mayor is rectangular in shape, measuring 129 by 94 metres, and is surrounded by three-story residential buildings having 237 breathtaking balconies facing the Plaza. It has a total of nine entranceways. (text source: wikipedia)

There are a lot of entertainers in the plaza. The atmosphere is more quiet compared to the busy Puerta del Sol.

There are restaurants all around the square. The price is more expensive but it's worth it. It is a very relaxing way to enjoy the night with authentic Spanish cuisines.

The authentic Spanish seafood paella was the best we've ever had.

  1. Plaza Mayor looks like a festive place to visit. That Paella looks enticing! I better check it out next year when I go back there.
