Recycling Centre at Spinneys, Dubai
When we visited Alessandria Italy in 2009, I was inpired on how they take waste segregation seriously. They separate glass, paper, plastic and biodegrable. My mom even use bags made from corn for the biodegrable. Batteries are disposed in groceries where they have specific containers.

I started segregating plastics, glasses, cans and papers and dispose them in a recycling area at a Spinney's grocery near our area or at the waste segregation disposal at Standars Chartered Bank in Mankhool. Some people might say that who cares if we practice this? It's not even mandatory here in Dubai. Well, I think one doer is better than a million preachers right? The mere fact that my kids are now getting used to it is a reward itself. I believe that at some point, we should start being responsible for taking care of our environment. As parents, it is our duty to teach our kids even at a young age. It is indeed for their generation and the next generations to come.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Now is the perfect time to start!
