Mission Lodge (Venn's Town), Mahe Island

Mission Lodge Park was originally called Venn’s Town, missionary ran school here for liberated Africans landed in Seychelles after 1861. The ruins are a reminder of Seychelles’ role in the campaign to stamp out the slave trade in the region following the abolition of slavery in 1834.

It was located on top of the mountain and the view of the nearby islands was stunning. There is no entrance fee. Just park your car and walk into a small viewing deck. It reminded me so much of Baguio City's (Northern Philippines) Mine's View Park. The only difference was that Baguio offers view of the mountains while Mission Lodge, the islands.
