Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica A popular landmark, the basilica is located at the summit of the Montmarte, the highest point in the city. Sacré-Cœur is a double monument, political and cultural, both a national penance for the supposed excesses of the Second Empire and socialist.

From Montmarte, we took the funiculaire (tram) going up the Basilica. Train tickets can be used here. There is also stair available adjacent to the tram. My kids preferred to take the easy way since they have been walking around in a while.

On the stairs outside the Basilica, people gathered around to view the Paris skyline, watch some entertainment or just sit, eat and drink beer.
